Michigan

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan has quickly become what feels like a second home to me. I grew up with family vacations being up The North Shore in Minnesota, exploring the amazing state parks and countless beaches, so coming to The UP felt oddly familiar on my first trip in April of 2026 with my dad. That familiarity made me fall in love, leading me to taking another trip in June, once again accompanied by my dad and also my brother for this trip. Still feeling hungry for adventure with Michigan on my mind as I edited photos from those two trips, I of course went again in August, this time by myself.

The UP also helped me to fall back in love with photography again. It added the fuel for the tiny flame in me that was just barely holding onto this passion and allowed it to explode once again. There is so much more for me to explore and I can’t wait to go back.
